Unknown likes to hear the word Christmas in July, but we appreciate anyone who likes to plot yet to be, mainly when vacations are caught up.

So when a user reached out to us for advice on Chicago vacation rentals on our official Vacation Home Rentals Facebook fan page, we luckily obliged.

The request: “I am looking for a nice house to waste this Christmas in Chicago – downtown area or near north side. Want to stay Dec. 24-26. Will be 6 adults (our family tree) and would like something around $150 a nighttime.”

Well, that’s simple.

Check out the North Side hall higher than. Set in one of Chicago’s prettiest neighborhoods, Lincoln Park, the 19th century beauty boasts sufficient room for 10 and is the kind of house you can presume spending a celebration: in a Victorian hall. Calculated by prominent architect Harald M. Hansen, the space charms with all its lovely small fine points, including stained glass windows, pocket doors, pocket shutters, parquet floors, enhancing fireplaces, carved wood trim and plaster ceiling medallions.

In the Celestial Chamber, guests bump their Zs in a plush bed underneath a hand-painted canopy supported by an intricately carved Victorian headboard. In the Architect’s Quarters, a clawfoot bathtub teases after a leisurely walk by the side of Armitage Avenue, a camera-ready road dotted with boutiques and restaurants among turn-of-the-century brownstones.

To see it all lit up–by the side of with the Magnificent Mile (only a mile away–is the Christmas gift you and your family tree won’t soon forget.

Merry Christmas, we estimate, in July.
